Grade 7 Social Studies

A Distress Call From 1837

Step into the first mission of our Grade 7 Social Studies experience and meet Cassidy, a Junior Temporal Observer stranded in 1837. Students investigate the Upper Canada Rebellion, Montgomery’s Tavern, political reform, responsible government, and the evidence historians use to make sense of the past.

This free sampler gives teachers a glimpse of Teacher Time Machine’s classroom-ready approach: curriculum-aligned learning, historical inquiry, engaging narrative, primary and secondary source analysis, mapping, perspective-taking, and structured mission routines designed to build deeper understanding.

It also introduces the larger Grade 7 journey, Stranded in Time – Building Canada, where students explore how Canada gradually became a sovereign nation through political, territorial, economic, and social choices.

Download the sampler and see how history can become a mission worth solving.
